Cross Lutheran Church Partnership
For a number of years, Advent has had the privilege of partnering with Cross Lutheran Church to serve their community in Milwaukee in a variety of ways.
We collect non-perishable foods year round for the Cross Food Pantry Ministry. Those who are part of this aspect of the partnership report feeling like they receive more than they give. That blessing comes from the relationships formed with the Cross folk and the sense of doing something that matters in people’s lives.
We also make sandwiches once a month as part of a hunger ministry.
For several years members from both churches have gone to each other’s church picnics in the summer and early fall, sharing food and friendship, and also worshipping at the partnering churches. The picnics, worshiping together and partnership in hunger ministry are great ways to build and strengthen people-to-people relationships.
